Practice information on the coronavirus situation
During the current pandemic, taking all measures that prevent the spread of infections is important. If you or your children are currently suffering from symptoms of a respiratory infection, cough, high temperature or fever, please contact us by phone and do not visit the practice for the time being.
In our practice, we follow the current hygiene and social distancing regulations.
Our practice can be entered only with a face mask. We ask you to disinfect your hands upon entry. We also ask that your child is accompanied by only one person in order to limit the number of people present in the practice at the same time. In addition, we ask for your understanding that waiting for your child during their appointment in our waiting area cannot be permitted currently.
Thank you for your understanding!
If you have any questions or are not sure what to do in your particular situation, please do not hesitate to contact us.
Warm regards from your Paidion team
Why
At Paidion we comfort, understand, accompany, restore. We view each child’s and family’s story within its particular cultural framework and that culture’s customs and are culturally sensitive to diverse value systems. We believe that respecting the child and their story is paramount and continuously reflect on our own thoughts and actions to ensure this. We offer a trust relationship beyond hierarchies and see the child as the expert of their own needs. We believe strongly in letting the child participate and lead the way in their own healing process and invite each child lovingly and playfully, seriously and thoughtfully, clearly and decidedly to take us on this journey with them. We focus on idealizations and shadows, on personal resources, skills and guide in changing patterns in the way of the child’s happiness.

We use our empathy and guard against any and all judgement. We acknowledge the emotional pain and provide a safe space for expressing it and growing through, out of and in spite of it. We support not only children, teenagers and young adults but also accompany siblings, mothers and fathers on their healing journey as a family. We look forward to be of service to you.
In order to care for even more children Paidion Hamburg is opening a new therapy practice in Berlin as of October 2021. Click here to find out more….

Who

Specialist in child and adolescent psychiatry and psychotherapy
Specialist in pediatric and adolescent medicine, homeopathy

Sonja Sieslack is a specialist in child and adolescent psychiatry and pediatrics. That suits her well: taking care of the body and soul has always been of special concern for her. The combination of pediatrics and therapy is supplemented by homeopathy if necessary. Through various stations in Germany, she has acquired her profound knowledge, which is refreshed every now and then by the wind at the sea. In our practice, she works psychotherapeutically and psychosomatically and keeps an eye on all of our patients from a medical point of view.

Specialist in child and adolescent psychiatry and psychotherapy

Daniel Brockmann is a specialist in child and adolescent psychiatry and psychotherapy. He is a child and adolescent psychiatrist with heart and soul. Children who are burdened with especially challenging situations are lucky to have him because he is an expert in working with complex children’s souls in such a way that positive developments can be achieved with his great patience and compassion. In our practice he is our child psychiatrist and psychotherapist.

Practice Manager

From wound dressings to - very complex – keeping our practice running smoothly, she is a specialist in practice management. Coming from southern Germany and contributing her great expertise in practice processes and dog management from the start, nothing would work without her. She is the one who has the initial contact with all children and parents. On the phone, she is our unique voice to the outside world. She is our apetizer.

Child and adolescent psychotherapist
Sandra Morelli is a child and adolescent psychotherapist. She works with heart and mind: Her expertise is a particularly broad spectrum of psychotherapeutic interventions. Pain is especially of interest and relevant to her. The pain that comes from the body, but also the pain that manifests itself in the body originating from the soul. In our practice she is our psychotherapist.

Paco is a Siberian Husky Australian Shepherd mix. He helps us all by guarding us, welcoming children in a friendly manner and never forgetting that play is an essential part of life

Psychological psychotherapist

Emily Carroll - that sounds Irish and German. Emily Carroll can also do both: treat children and adolescents as well as adults psychotherapeutically. That is why she takes care of the parents of our therapy children, either accompanying them or offering them individual psychotherapy. Emily Carroll completes our mental health support from a family perspective. And then she's also an expert on anxiety disorders in addition to her extensive expertise in psychotherapy for young and old, open to any suffering that the souls in her care might bring with them.
Emily Carroll is currently on maternity leave.

Mona Kunze is our youngest team member. She is studying psychology in the master’s program and is eager to become a child psychotherapist. We think that's good, of course, as she has long since proven her talent with us. She would like to join children in entering their worlds, which makes us more than satisfied. Until she is finished studiying, she conducts all psychometric testing with us with the necessary accuracy and expertise. Unless she is at the water or busy jumping the trampoline like a squirrel.

Specialist in child and adolescent psychiatry and psychotherapy

Tobias Wehrmann became a child and adolescent psychiatrist because, in his opinion, there is too little time in somatic medicine for the essentials: the relationship. That is why therapy has become his subject. He has found his professional home in the healing of children's souls and is an enthusiastic child and youth psychiatrist. Tobias Wehrmann knows his way around the beginning and towards the end of our subject: with the very young ones and with the adolescents (whenever becoming an adult may begin). He's also an expert on obsessive-compulsive disorder, which you wouldn’t guess when you meet him. On the contrary.

Dance therapist

Sonja Schwitters is a dance therapist with a qualification in depth psychology. She knows her stuff when it comes to conversational therapy for younger and older people. But since her childhood she has been certain: Sometimes we don’t have the words for things that need to be said.
Our body speaks its own language. Sonja Schwitters' work relates to the art of expressive movement, the dance, which helps in getting to know the body and to listen to it.

Psychological psychotherapist

Sina-Valeska Kriesel is a psychological psychotherapist for children and adults and the managing director of the practice. It is therefore clear that she can do more than just one thing: leading with compassion and always keeping the overview of needs on the one hand, and treating with commitment and empathy on the other. An unusual combination that predestines her to represent our practice and at the same time have an open heart for the patients. She has particular expertise in the treatment of eating disorders. In our practice, she is, so to speak, our psychotherapeutic manager, who looks out for the well-being of patients and therapists alike.

Specialist in child and adolescent psychiatry and psychotherapy
Supervisor

Michael Schulte-Markwort, is a doctor for child and adolescent psychiatry. Even as a child he was fascinated by the idea of being able to see the world through other people's eyes. Today he’s pretty knowledgeable on the topic of mental health in children, has written several books on the topic and is considered an expert for children with dyspraxia or affective dysregulations among other things. His passion is psychodrama, a creative treatment method. For many years he headed the clinic for child and adolescent psychiatry at the UKE and Altona Children's Hospital. If you meet children at their level, they respond with respect, is his credo. In addition to his medical work, he is our supervisor and mentor at our Paidion practice.

Anyone who looks so cool in their photo is actually quick-witted and softhearted at the same time. Achim von Iljin knows his way around daredevil climbing and has an in-depth understanding of children's souls. This also applies to adolescents and young adults. He is particularly familiar with chronic diseases and their consequences for the soul.
